Anak Krakatau volcanic activity at night, 24.-26.Oct.2018. Eruptions filmed in real time, no timelapse !

Krakatau video is amazing!
More recent: https://www.theguardian.com/global/v...-tsunami-video "tau" or "toa?" |

If you're talking about the volcano in the video above, it's Anak Krakatau - literally translated, it means 'child of Krakatoa'. |

She makes outstanding videos.

I find these mesmerizing, makes me wonder how long it takes to create one set up, and how many takes to film it? Embiggen for sure.
|
Film?
:stickpoke |
Film goes with takes. :p:

This guy claims to have collected the 100 best photographs ever.
That's pretty subjective but there are many cool ones. |
This was fun. The priest is kind of adorkable. |
This is great... "they don't let Rudolf join in any reindeer games"
Yeah yeah, 15 minutes. It's worth it. |
Woman survives freak accident when freeway sign crushes her car
...the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck?! That's a heavy sign. |
Definitely embiggen. |

Remember Peter Frampton's talk box? It wasn't new tech, here's Lucy demonstrating it in 1939... yes, that Lucy.
|
That's a long way from Do You Feel Like I Do-ooo.
Jackyl used Frampton's original box on The Lumberjack. And promptly blew it up. |

Katelyn Ohashi, either she was built by Boston Dynamics or came from outer space. Humans can't do that butt bounce or splits bounce. :headshake

Not only that but good lord look at the frickin height she gets on the double forward flip on the first run
http://cellar.org/img/ohashi.jpg The world record high jump is 8 feet and she's damn near cleared that if not reached it. |

Yeah, that's pretty cool. |
It's funny, her legs are big but don't look muscular. It's like she has a thin layer of baby fat to hide the Boston Dynamics mechanicals.
|
The wind noise is annoying, but the video is interesting. Maybe try sound off and closed captioning.
|
I'm going to go straight in and invoke the 'philistine's defence'.
I don't know much about (insert subject here) but I know what I like. Sadly I'm not at all musical so I thought I'd post this here rather than annoy the aficionados in the music thread several floors up.* The pianist is Brendan Kavanagh who has made numerous videos of his performances on public pianos, mostly in London rail and tube stations. Check out his channel. *Aficionados can breve a sigh of relief. |
A working stiff fooling around, or a musician clever enough to wear an outfit bright enough to outshine Elton John?

cornstarch and water in the right proportion behaves much the same way. with some regular agitation it becomes more fluid. When left to settle, the first stirring motions reveal a hardened peanut butter consistency, quite solid. perhaps you've seen the videos where people run across a swimming pool filled with cornstarch and water, but when standing quietly on the surface, they sink. This is the same liquefaction phenomenon that happens in some earthquakes in some regions that wreaks utter havoc on structures. |

That is an awesome clock.
Ridiculously complicated, but awesome. |
Incredible...

A little cheating around the edges, but very entertaining.

Yeah, it's not a continuous shoot, but just getting each section to work is amazing to me. Veggies are not reliable performers, more like trying to film a kindergarten play. :haha:

Where does he keep all those tables?

This is pretty clever...

I liked this because I had no idea how they mined big deposits underground...

Stope, word of the day.
|
Informative.
|
It's one of those, "Hmm, I didn't know that", or "Who cares".
|
I knew the gist already, but not the whys and the wherefors.
And, like Jim, above, I learned a word. Mining literally has its own language. |
|
Bet you never saw a match head cannon like this one...
|
|
I've seen the first one before. The second one with the leaf was neat.
|
Is there something about Reddit I'm missing?
I don't get nothing for the second link (black box), and just a pic of a doodad on a wall in the first. |
They're both videos, it sounds like they're not fully loading for you and you're just getting thumbnail still shots.
