It seemed appropriate. :-)

My cats and the 2 dogs will be inside with me during Florence. The old bastard that lives on the back porch enjoyed his grooming with the hair glove. I have had him in at night when it is real cold, but he prefers outside in the sun. I thought he was a feral cat, but the first time in the house he checked it out and then used the kitty pan. How can people be so cruel to raise an animal and then throw them out? Lucky for them Cat Man lives in the neighborhood.

He murdered the family he was living with then went looking for new victims.

Cellar, meet Merrick:

Attachment 65864

Merrick iz speshul kat.

Merrick wakes his owner up when her blood sugar drops dangerously low, by meowing, licking and nibbling her nose, lips and ears. He's saved her life, literally, twice. Once, or twice, I'm not sure, he couldn't wake her up. So he woke up her husband.

Merrick has no training what-so-ever.

I wish I could get cool action pics like that of my spastic cat, but my camera just doesn't have the chops.

He's a twisting, spinning, tumbling super-gymnast when it comes to leaping for the string-on-a-stick toy. Regularly goes into lunatic, hyper-speed, crazy cat mode (racing around the house bouncing off furniture and walls for no good reason). Can't resist leaping upon and chasing down my elderly lady cat (she sneaks around the house now, hoping he won't see/hear her). For a good part of the day, he's either going at warp speed or he's completely knackered.

https://i.imgur.com/zonTIRZ.jpg

Oh, and he simply must closely and intimately inspect everything that comes along. Literally sticks his head into your cup as you hold it in your hand, because there might be something good in there. Demands a bite of whatever you're eating. He's convinced there are treasures between and beneath the sofa cushions, or possibly small creatures that he would like to eat. He never stops exploring the entire house, even though he's been into every crack and corner a hundred times. He snoops and digs into every fucking thing in sight.

https://i.imgur.com/TKoOEhf.jpg

Any food left on the counter (even if it's wrapped up or in a container) is doomed. The second I open a closet or cupboard, he's inside it. I can't even leave an open box of cat litter out, because he thinks it's fun to stick his paw in there and dig the litter out. :eyebrow:

Scooter Pie is one gigantic handful of kitty madness. And I love every exasperating second of it. :D

BigV 02-19-2019 09:15 PM

glad to hear you sounding so hale and hearty Glinda.

funny cat story too!

xoxoxoBruce 02-20-2019 01:09 AM

Scooter Pie = home entertainment system. ;)

Gravdigr 02-20-2019 10:09 AM

My boy Slick (gone four years, now, still seems like yesterday:sniff:), a Bombay, was very hard on his toys. One of those stick-n-string things had a lifespan of only a couple hours. The bird-looking-thing-on-a-string-on-a-stick never stood a chance.

I made him/us a toy out of a leather boot lace (thong) and the shaft of an old cue stick. It (the 'string') was a little shorter at the end, but it lasted as long as he did.

He still has it.

Will your phone take bursts? Like three (or more) pics really closely together? Ya could also try video and take a still from the vid, or a screenshot.

fargon 02-20-2019 10:47 AM

If i point a camera at either one of my Cats they immediately sit and stare.

Gravdigr 02-20-2019 02:45 PM

That's just when Slick started moving.

Thanks! I'm still in recovery mode (persistent cough, tire easily, conjunctivitis remains an issue), but I'm definitely feeling better. Last night I got busy and did some vacuuming, cleaned the master bathroom, and made some yummy chicken salad.

Neither my basic Cannon camera nor my Android phone do bursts, as far as I can tell. As for the bolded part, you speak as though I have even the tiniest understanding of digital/technical manipulation. :p:

Gravdigr 02-20-2019 09:02 PM

Sometimes ya have the option while watching a vid, maybe;), to take a snapshot of what you're seeing in the vid.

xoxoxoBruce 02-21-2019 01:37 AM

And some websites like Pinterest and Twitter won't let you grab images so you have to take a screen shot of your whole screen and edit it down to the picture you want in your photo program.

Gravdigr 02-21-2019 12:57 PM

Or ya use the snipping tool that comes with Win7.;)

xoxoxoBruce 02-22-2019 12:40 AM

Snipping tool??

Open, click new, drag a box around the area and save as a file.

That's interesting, I've never used that. I just tap the screen capture key(PS on my keyboard) and paste it into photoshop. Snippet might prove to be faster if I'm doing several images at one site, have to try it, thanks. :thumb:

This snipping tool looks like it may be useful. I just pinned it to my taskbar.

The only potential downside I see is that is copies an item as it appears in the screen's resolution, for good or for bad.

Gravdigr 02-22-2019 01:11 PM

It's handy for those sites that don't allow right-click-copy, and/or save-picture-as.

Clodfobble 02-22-2019 02:13 PM

!!!

That's way faster than screenshotting, pasting into paint, selecting the portion I want and getting rid of the portion I don't. Thanks for the tip!

glatt 02-22-2019 04:15 PM

I've used it three times today for work. Legit getting paid to use it.

You paste that thing into a word document and print to PDF and you're golden. Works great to screenshot filing receipts.

Flint 02-22-2019 06:18 PM

Yeah, my IT analysts encourage users to use the Snipping Tool to send screenshots with their emails. To be honest, I still use https://www.irfanview.com/ almost always, because I usually want to annotate, circle, draw arrows, or pixel-ize sensitive data.

BigV 02-22-2019 08:47 PM

snipping tool has a fucking highlighter though, a feature not found in irfanview or other snapshot tools in my experience.

Attachment 66552

Gravdigr 02-22-2019 09:38 PM

And it has a pen, too.

So you can circle, and draw arrows.

If you click on tools, then on options, you get this box of choices.

Undertoad 02-23-2019 08:39 AM

If that's not enough, there is a screen capture tool called Greenshot which has a bunch of features. I like it for its crosshairs for selecting your capture area.

Uh, y'know, I've seen a box or two, and I know they're all different and urrthang, but I just wanted to say that your box looks different than my box.

Oh, it's the same inside, just looks different.

Must be a difference in Win versions.

I'm running Win7.

sexobon 02-23-2019 01:29 PM

You'd have to compare notes with someone running the same Windows version. Snipping Tool has evolved. WIN10 version has more of a selection under Tools (in addition to pencil, highlighter and eraser); but, it can't be downloaded onto previous Windows versions.

Gravdigr 02-23-2019 02:48 PM

It's actually mine that looks different.
