12/29: Kinda low approach

From a set of big-jet aviation landings and approaches found here. Apparently this particular runway, at St. Martin, is just laid out to look like planes are landing on the bathers, but this particular approach was lower than it should be anyway. (Jesus, is the gear all the way down??)

If you go to that link, be sure to read the stories he links to.

The story about dogs being launched into the ocean was funny.

This pic reminded me of the horror stories I used to hear about planes flying into Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong. When the new Chek Lap Kok Airport was opened, I was under the impression that it was supposed to make things easier. But in reading this article from one of the websites listed, the new airport doesn't sound a whole lot better.
