Sweets Saturday Jan 15 03:44 PMHAHAHA I love it! Thats a great sense of humor that those soldiers have. It's good to see positive images from overseas Thank you!
Skunks Saturday Jan 15 05:35 PMI think that weather rock has, perhaps, a slightly more accurate windspeed feature than this one.

He's thinking: "Oh, shit! I probably just tripped a trigger mechanism. Now I wonder if I should take my hand off? We never had this in boot camp......"
Skunk's image must be a Kansas weather rock. If that rock rolls, you can bet your ass it's windy.
404Error Sunday Jan 16 01:39 AMBusterB had a coon-ass weather rock in the dodads thread I thought was pretty cool.
Elspode Sunday Jan 16 11:41 AMWhere's the 1st I.D. Do-Nothing? Or the 1st I.D. walnut bowl? Souvneir corncob pipe?

Can anyone explain?

It's possible he's an Air force weatherman attached to the 1st I.D. as part of The 1st Aviation Regiment.
Quote:
The task force included; a company of four Ukrainian Mi-8 "Hip" helicopters, Company B of 2nd Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, Troop D of 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, one company of U.A.E. AH-64A "Apache" helicopters, the 236th Air Ambulance Company, a detachment of Air Traffic Servicemen from 3rd Battalion, 58th Aviation Regiment, and a detachment of Air Force Weathermen. The seven-month long deployment was a complete success, and the battalion returned home to Katterbach on June 19th, 2000.

First of all we have to establish this is a joke, not a weather device. Secondly, if he was in the 1st I.D. he'd know all about it. Therefore I think he's a tourist.
