Undertoad Monday Aug 30 11:29 AM8/30/2004: Large public art installation in Berlin
Yesterday night was Berlin's "Lange Nacht der Museen", or "Long Night of Museums" - which I gather is a celebration of art involving 100 different museums having special exhibits and overnight access and such. Along with this celebration, there was installed a series of nine giant art works called RefleCity, by French artist Armel Reau.
The above is one of them - the guy sits there six metres above the ground, at the Brandenberg Gate.
No word whether the grimace is part of it.
As usual, the news images don't necessarily give us the best view of the art. But sometimes they give us a different view.
In this case, the child is a spectator; the woman is an actor, part of the art. In this particular exhibit, actors play scenes of daily life in Berlin.
Another of the exhibits is a massive toilet bowl where remote-control cars travel around and inside the bowl through transparent tubes... to draw attention to the waste and transport problems in the world's major cities.

You may find yourself at a beautiful gate
On a tall chair
And you may ask yourself
"My God! What have I done?!"
xoxoxoBruce Monday Aug 30 09:25 PMI don't know much about art, but...........
The best thing about most of the "performance art", I've seen, is that it eventually ends.
