The hedgehog is Europe's answer to the porcupine, only cuter and more common. When threatened, it rolls itself into a ball so that quills are pointed outward in every direction.
Tuesday Feb 6 07:06 AMOh, I want one!
Friday Feb 9 12:10 AMOf course you could get the same effect with a white mouse, toothpicks and superglue.

If I had a hedgehog, I'd name it Spiny Norman...

A friend of mine had a hedgehog....horrible little creature. Cute as the dickens, but had an odd habit of eating its own feces and/or escaping and roving about their house for days at a time. One day it escaped and they never found it again. Oh well, such is a risk when you take in small furbearers (or, in this case, spinebearers).
