4/18/2004: Airplane limo

This was Farked so why not save it for a lazy Sunday? A Guadalaharan limo company bought an old 727-100, removed the wings and turned it into what must be the world's largest and finest limo. Costs $1000 for a three hour ride in the thing, and you still only have portholes to look out of (and the view isn't as nice).

$1000 for 3 hours? That's probably what it would cost to park that thing in Philadelphia or NYC.

Leah  Sunday Apr 18 05:52 PM

Is this thing really allowed on the roads, or am I just being gullible?

xoxoxoBruce  Sunday Apr 18 08:47 PM

Leah, I think they're a little more lenient in Mexico.
Hard to believe it only weighs 6 ton, outfitted that way. At 124 mph, even with air brakes, it better have a lot of room to stop.

For $1000, I could fly 3 hours in one with wings, and end up in a tropical paradise, getting waited on by submissive wenches .. instead of staying in the one city, and finding every pothole in every Guatemalan road ..

onetrack  Sunday Apr 18 09:12 PM

Ooops .. I meant Guadalaharan, not Guatemalan .. it's early in the morning where I am .. and the sugar hasn't kicked in yet ..

Guadalajaran (You must be a gavacho )

That limo must look extremely out of place since most of the cars in Guadalajara are tiny!

Question

Do they make you watch the inflight movie in case there is a crash
Or does the O2 masks pop out if you hit potholes?

ladysycamore  Monday Apr 19 04:46 PM

OH hell, I'm going to keep it real: If I had the money, I'd have to take one flight, just to see what it was like.

And God help me if I liked it... $$$$
