12/3/2003: Slavery protest in India

Interesting protest dep't: these are Indian activists, marking the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery in New Delhi.



And some activists are children: formerly bonded workers, and rescued from lives of slavery by welfare organizations.

Damn.

A hundred and forty-odd years from now, their descendants will be demanding reparations from us.

I'm pretty sure it's our fault.

With luck the reparations will come from the coffers of the corporations responsible, not the taxpayer...

Good one! Corporations taking responsibility while the government is controlled by Republicans.

Wow, they have really harsh penalties for protesting there.
