8/26: When Eagles Attack

The only good one from MSNBC week in pics this week, but it's awesome.
The caption says: A four-month-old bald eagle swoops down and claws
3-year-old Kayla Finn at Hampton Beach, N.H., on Aug. 21. The beach-loving
eagle evaded animal control officers for 4 days before being captured.

As a Philadelphia sports fan, all I can say is Go Eagles.

Hampton Beach, NH?? Looks like the 50 yard line at the Vet to me.

What's the story on the Eagles' new stadium? Anybody know when it's supposed to open?

elSicomoro  Sunday Aug 26 09:55 PM

It's currently under construction along I-95 in South Philadelphia, about 3 blocks from the Vet. It opens at about this time 2 years from now. The new baseball stadium should be going up soon as well, if it hasn't started already. That opens in April 2004.

But for now, and probably until the end of September, my tax dollars are paying Public Works employees to lay down asphalt over the base cutouts and pitchers mound. Then they'll tear it up when the field needs to be converted back to baseball. We'll see how well it works Thursday night.
