Undertoad Friday Oct 31 02:03 PM10/31/2003: Dangling soldiers and dangling dogs
It's an interesting perspective, but what you have there is Special Forces guys from Jakarta descending from a helicopter WITH their police dogs. God only knows what those dogs are thinking...
ndetroit Friday Oct 31 04:54 PMI would imagine it's something like "Woof! woof woof! bark bark bark!! woof-woof!"

or Wimper Wimper ....
Bitman Friday Oct 31 06:45 PM"Wow, lookit all the trees! That one's mine, and that one, and that one, ..."
That picture is wacky as hell. It looks like a mobile made of paper cutouts, cuz the colors are wrong, and the sharpness is wrong, and everybody's hanging at weird angles.
But why the cables? Is it common to drop off troops and dogs in places too crowded to set the chopper down?
daniwong Friday Oct 31 06:58 PMAll I have to say is those poor poor doggies.
bjlhct Friday Oct 31 07:01 PMIt's faster....
and that picture does look fake. I mean, guys that look like they were painted? Badly? Homie with whiteout face? Dogs handing at weird angles? Guy swinging wildly enough to be horizontal?
However, the expression of the dog with the green in its eye is priceless.
Dagney Friday Oct 31 08:17 PMHey Spike....
I can see our doghouse from here!!!!!

They are swinging, it's just htat the picture grabbed them at a single moment. And the white bit is a glove or some kind of wrist wrapping--that's just the guy's hand in fron to fhis face from the angle of the camera.
quzah Friday Oct 31 09:27 PMThey look like 12 inch GI Joes. That's the first thing I thought when I saw the picture. Their body poses look like just that, a pose you'd get from a figure, rather than something real. Look at the leg of the guy on the left for a good example. He totally looks action figure. The way his helmet sits on his head at a screwed up angle. The whole works.
Quzah.
bjlhct Friday Oct 31 10:30 PMBut the paradox is that the dogs look real.

Oh, man. That's what I was thinking. I thought we were looking at one of Bruce's doodad's!!!
xoxoxoBruce Saturday Nov 1 06:37 AMIf you blow the picture up a couple hundred %, the positions and details make a lot more sense.
Archer Saturday Nov 1 10:24 PMSo, do they train the dogs to not go poo whilst doing their GI Joe super kung fu action grip chopper drop?
Would kinda suck to have your suprise airborne assault spoiled by an ill timed turd.
bjlhct Sunday Nov 2 03:09 AMNope, bruce, they still look like action figures.

That's why the dogs are below the men.
