8/15/2003: Winning goat carrier

It's not a goat carrying contest. It's not dateline Austria. Those aren't his real arms.

It's a goat parade in Racine County, Wisconsin and this guy won first place in the "Most Creative" category.

That's some fine work, but personally I wouldn't care to live in a locale where they have a goat parade. I mean, come on, a parade of goats? The only goat-related entertainment I have participated in was petting zoos at age 8, and the last goat-related entertainment I heard was when that goat "coughed up that shirt and flagged the train" (traditional).

And where's PETA, for chrissakes?

In Falmouth PA they drop a goat on New Year's Eve, and of course have goat races during the year. I have never witnessed either of these but have heard about them from a friend who likes goats.

He could be Governor of CA some day. I know they're fake arms but fake is a CA tradition.

And I thought that only here in Tennessee did they offer such a display of goat-celebrating activities. Turns out we're more in-step with national trends than I previously thought. (Don't miss the senior milking contest, aka "happy hour at the nursing home", at 2:30 p.m. I'm not kidding...check out the schedule.)

Speaking of strange events in Tennessee, tune into Vigilcast 2003! In commemoration of the death of the King, Elvis Presley, the annual candlelight vigil is happening TONIGHT. Log on and show your respects. I'm sure the King would say "Thank ya, Thank ya verra much."

Cool goat totes. I would opt for the padded shoulder strap.

Remember when I said I would kill you last?

"Hey Bennet, let off some steam!"

Or my favorite quote from the movie...

"Fuck you, asshole."

"No. Fuck YOU, asshole!"

Such creativity.

Goats are a pain in the ass. My fiancée is a huge animal lover, and of all of her many animals, the goats are the only ones whose presence is about as nice as a splinters under fingernails. They are noisy, they stink, they break out of their pens and shit everywhere... they're worthless. The only reason she has them is because she used to raise dairy goats for fairs and stuff when she was younger, and now there's the leftovers plus offspring. They don't even get milked anymore.

I've been working on her though, and we're going to find new homes for most of them, thank Bob. Speaking of which, anybody want a quality dairy goat? They're great for milking, and for sacrificing to the diety of your choice!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Act now and you'll also receive...

Ah, forget it.
