March 2nd, 2020 : Masking the Problem

Right now the Kung Flu, which the left wing socialist press still calls the Coronavirus or COVID-19, has just begun it’s world tour.
In the internet age news travels faster than a pandemic so anticipation has everyone as jumpy as a 13 year old girl hearing the
Beatles were coming to town. Being not sure what to do but taking cues from the pictures, people are buying up ineffectual dust
masks so fast the gougers are having a field day.

The use of masks was mandated in Canada during the Spanish Flu that killed 50 million people, 20% of the world population.
The Calgary Herald took the opportunity on October 26, 1918, to poke fun on the mask in public mandate. That was a long time
before “triggers” such as the Kung Flu killed my gerbil, and such would cause sit-ins, picketing and lawsuits.

I couldn’t find any reference to the N-O-K Association, Google was dragging it’s feet in 1918.

I heard Amazon kicked a whole bunch of the mask gouging thieves off the platform.
10 Pak = $3.99, shipping = $499.99. Only $3.99, he must be honest.

My beard prevents me from wearing a mask effectively but it balances out by being so ugly half the population avoids me
completely, and the other half approaches only out of desperation.

I have a couple of boxes of P95 dust masks for woodworking. They will work great to protect me, but since they have the rubber exhale flap to keep your safety glasses from fogging up, they will do virtually nothing to protect others from germs that I may have.
