March 12th, 2019: Stray Pony

The future, like it or not, is electric cars. The main constraint is battery development, but they’re making good strides.
The first successful EV(electric vehicle) for the masses will be limited in range but acceptable for people to do short commutes
to work and back on a regular basis, or running local errands. Right now wannabes are trying to figure out a way to challenge
Tesla for market share. The best way is to be cheaper, but without volume they can’t make them cheap enough. Catch 22.
So they're all try to think of a gimmick.

Oh look, a ’67 Mustang!
Wrong, Capitalist Running Dog!
That’s an R67 from Aviar in Russia, the gimmick they hope will fire the juices of fat America capitalists with it’s throwback style.
Yes, it has the Mustang looks but that’s it.

It has Automatic Pilot Driver Assist, voice activated controls, electronic stability and traction controls, climate control, Bluetooth,
WiFi, LED lighting, six airbags, dual motor all wheel drive, about 800hp, 100 kWh battery good for about 310 miles, zero to 60 in
2.2 seconds, 155 mph max, 20 inch wheels, improved aerodynamics, and a spoiler that deploys at 75 mph and retracts at 50.

You may not be aware that EVs are too quiet to be safe for pedestrians so the have an external sound system to make noise.
This one, “Simulates the operation of the engine and exhaust system of the legendary Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.”

Aside ~ The articles keep calling the ’67 Mustang the start of the muscle cars. It is not, it was the start of the Pony cars.
The ’64 Pontiac GTO was the start of the muscle cars.

The Brits are getting into the act too.

Attachment 66717

The Queen in effect owns to Royal Mail.
The Royal Mail has formed a partnership with Charge(above) called Arrival, to build RM vehicles.
Arrival's CEO Denis Sverdlov, is also co-owner of YOTA the Russian cell phone/internet provider.
Common knowledge says Putin has a part in that, and every Russian moneymaker.
So Trump isn't the only one linked to Putin, so is Liz.

The top one (Russian Mustang) looks like nothing more than renderings.

Or good screen captures from a video game.

Rhianne  Tuesday Mar 12 12:35 PM

* Royal Mail was sold off in 2013 and is now in private ownership.

xoxoxoBruce  Wednesday Mar 13 01:40 AM

That's what Liz and Putin would have you believe.

Huh? So what was a '55 Vette?

xoxoxoBruce  Monday Mar 18 11:52 PM

The Corvette is not a muscle car nor a pony car, it's America's Sports Car.

A boat anchor.

A pretty anchor though, and the '55 at least had some power.
