Dec 18th, 2018 : In a Bottle

Once the bottle is empty we used to send a lot of them back to be cleaned and refilled.
Then it became to big a hassle for bottlers so the bottles got buried.
Then the landfills got filled up so recycling became de rigueur.
I figured they melted them down to make new bottles but apparently there are a bunch of uses from making fiberglass insulation
down to grinding it up as a substitute for sand in construction.

But there’s a whole bunch of people cheating the recycling stream by filling their bottles. Some with moonshine and some with art.
We've all seen ships in bottles that sailors made. Then there are others who are tired of ships.

After the fairly simple ones that it’s easy to figure out how it was done, comes the beefy ones.
But it’s still one piece at a time, just more pieces.

Then there are people who march to beat of a different accordion.

There’s a video of one being assembled.

I've always liked that art form.
The triptych lab bottle(s) is my favorite, but the link has so many it is hard to decide.
The missing man (bottom right) takes some looking.

Oh.

Oh my.

Want. Sooo many possibilities. Bong. Mixed drink maker/dispenser. So many.

If I gotta have it stuck in my head, I hope it sticks in yours, too.
