gvidas Tuesday Feb 10 02:01 PM Feb 10, 2015: Fake Animals Fake Escaping From Real Zoos
Quote:
In some zoos in Japan and China, staff members perform regular security drills to practice their response to a large animal escape by using costumed zookeepers as the fugitive animals. Individuals in furry costumes or pairs in full-size mockups of larger animals run through zoo property, sometimes inflicting mock injuries, as fellow zookeepers work to surround, subdue, and recapture them.

Carruthers Tuesday Feb 10 02:33 PMIn a similar vein, during WW2 there were a number of fake airfields dotted around the country with wooden mock ups of fighter and bomber aircraft dispersed around them.
It is said that the Luftwaffe, in an uncharacteristic display of Teutonic humour, dropped wooden bombs on them.
