Verrückt waterslide

The world's tallest waterslide opens tomorrow - it's the "Verrückt", at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark, so you know this is all happening in Germany Kansas City.

Scary infographic showing you how tall it is

Its opening has been delayed a few times now, so I'm feeling REAL confident about it. Seriously though, they've been testing it this week, and it looks like it's good to go.

"Verrückt" is German for "insane."

I've watched a couple of videos, and I'm not getting much of a scare factor from it. Maybe I need to see it up close. If my health permitted, I'd probably ride it.

Very appropriate.

It's apparently making news around the world...that's cool.

Just last week, the Steelhawk opened at Worlds of Fun, which may actually be more insane than Verrückt due to its history: http://www.kansascity.com/living/article669939.html

Zwei questions: What do they do with it in the winter and what happens when a tornado comes thru? Ewwuu, Ich habe keine trousers.

elSicomoro  Thursday Jul 10 01:11 PM

The Verrückt is insane; therefore, it will fight the tornado.

Blue, I just asked your questions to the folks that run Schlitterbahn's Twitter acct. I'll let you know if they answer...good questions!

I'd go down this thing in a New York (or rather, Wyandotte County) minute...but I'm not walking up 600+ steps to do it.

Leslie rode that thing two days before it broke down.
