Trees outside our neighborhood library have been yarn bombed. Some person or people have knitted cozies for many of the tree trunks. The display keeps getting added to. It's been going on for months.

Seemed kind of neat at first, but it looks like hell now. Really trashy. I wish they would take it down.

In the outer-outer lands of Oregon and Nevada, "sneaker trees"
are popular, but not necessarily pretty.

See, lurkers, this is what you miss out on by never reading the rest of the Cellar! Lumberjim is still very much here, he just posts under the username jimhelm now. The reason for the change was even mentioned again recently in a thread on the main board. The question is, are you motivated enough to find it?

Sure, and if I could think of pithy things to say like that, I'd be posting all the time too.

lumberjim  Friday Oct 25 09:44 AM

Nice one, Janet. I loves me some irony.

What the!

I don't know what it is about your post, caretaker, but I'm very aroused right now.

CaliforniaMama  Monday Nov 4 12:01 AM

I found another tree:

Found on the Flickr page of Karmakazi

BTW, the pineapple design, so prevalent on the first tree, is a Pennsylvania Dutch (Germans who emigrated to U.S.) symbol of welcome.

infinite monkey  Monday Nov 4 09:36 AM

Hello Doily!

Pete Zicato  Monday Nov 4 12:00 PM

Ha! Nice.

lumberjim  Tuesday Nov 5 07:33 PM

Lamplighter  Tuesday Nov 5 08:48 PM

Why do I wonder if that's where he buried his cat ?

xoxoxoBruce  Tuesday Nov 5 09:07 PM

I had one of those garden in a bottle things for three years. Mine was like one of those 5 gallon glass water cooler jugs laying on it's side. Unfortunately it got broken when we moved.
