Meet Endal. Endal was a helper dog (who passed away a couple of years ago) to his master Allen Parton, a former Royal Navy officer who was disabled in a car crash in 1991 during the Gulf War.
Endal helped with laundry and shopping and even helping his human buy his evening pint at the local pub.
They met when Endal was just a puppy.
His human was very depressed about being disabled and just happened to join his wife at work one day. The wife worked in a dog training centre.
The minute his human arrived, Endal knew that taking care of his master was his life's purpose. He jumped on his human's lap and for 12 years he never left his side.
The story of Endal is from the UK Daily Mail.
The inspiration for today's post is from my reading of A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron.
Sundae Wednesday Jun 12 02:27 PMThat's not a pub, it's a supermarket
Still, at least I didn't think it was a public convenience [nudge, nudge]
Good story, though.
Next time Diz jumps on my head in the middle of the night I will feed him ti a Guide Dog, so he can at least do some good in this world.
Well, maybe I'll just threaten him a little first.
