Januray 31st, 2013 Flying Elephant I have no info on this photo except > xoxoxoBruce Thursday Jan 31 12:57 AM I didn't think elephants could jump. classicman Thursday Jan 31 01:16 AM VERY CUTE, but looks totally shopped. orthodoc Thursday Jan 31 04:20 AM Made me smile. Trilby Thursday Jan 31 08:17 AM made me think of the Flying Nun AND Dumbo. a Catholic elephant? glatt Thursday Jan 31 08:42 AM That's cool! Coign Thursday Jan 31 12:19 PM Elephants don't jump. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/...elephants-jump orthodoc Thursday Jan 31 12:44 PM It's an interesting article - but if elephants can't physiologically jump because of their weight, wouldn't it be possible for a baby elephant to jump? I imagine not just the weight, but the proportions and physiology would be different and might allow jumping. Another question for Tom Silva, I suppose ... glatt Thursday Jan 31 12:49 PM Elephant ears can't move into the position that baby's ears are in. They look more like a basset hound's ears to me. Those ears are drawn in. orthodoc Thursday Jan 31 01:28 PM You're right - the more I look at it, the less real the baby looks. Nirvana Thursday Jan 31 01:49 PM real? not real? eh! It lifted my heart and made me smile glatt Thursday Jan 31 02:13 PM Me too. It's a cool picture. xoxoxoBruce Thursday Jan 31 10:42 PM All pictures of baby elephants are great. Every one of them makes me smile. sandypossum Sunday Feb 10 06:28 PM I've seen a baby rhino frolic like a lamb, bouncing about (definitely not possible for adult rhinos), and also a baby womat bounce about (ditto), so I find it quite plausible that a baby elephant could.
