December 1, 2012 - The Godfather

Today’s offering is a sculpture by Nic Fiddian-Green. It is titled Still Water and lives in London. It is more than 30’ high and the entire thing is sculpted and cast by the artist himself. (I guess most huge-sculpt artists don’t “do” their own work?)

A more fun fact is that the guy gets lifted to the top to clean off the bird droppings all by himself. Now that’s what I call pride in his work.

Found in Modern Met, you can read the rest of the story here.

That's a well planned and executed pic.
... just the right touch of light on the still water round the lips.

Griff  Sunday Dec 2 09:53 AM

That is really nice.

xoxoxoBruce  Sunday Dec 2 11:31 AM

I'm thinking, what the hell is it balancing on it's nose for.
Oh, that's exactly what they look like grazing. DUH

newtimer  Sunday Dec 2 11:55 AM

Thanks a lot, whoever ate all the good parts and just left us the head!

xoxoxoBruce  Sunday Dec 2 12:32 PM

I've got no problem with someone just giving me head.

Diaphone Jim  Sunday Dec 2 12:35 PM

First take: a torso of Priapus.

Adak  Sunday Dec 2 01:34 PM

Not grazing, Bruce - just ready to drink from the cool, still, water.

SPUCK  Monday Dec 3 05:43 AM

Ahh It needs the body of a platypus.

I snorted so hard it hurt my throat.
Good job I didn't have a mouthful...
