classicman Sunday Aug 12 11:33 PMAugust 13, 2012 - Shield Bug & babies
A "giant shield bug" (Tessaratomidae). She's on the job protecting herbrood of nymphs!
Habitat: This spotting on a guava (Psidium sp.) tree in a large semi-urban yard/garden next to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.
SPUCK Monday Aug 13 06:39 AMPretty dang cool. Good ol' Moms.
Sundae Monday Aug 13 07:03 AMQuite a few of them are missing the benefit of her protection.
Then again, they are red-heads. Probably step-children.
(great photo - yours?)
ZenGum Monday Aug 13 07:53 AMShe's just crazy about those kids.
Damned Nymphomaniac!
CaliforniaMama Monday Aug 13 09:49 AMBrooch and earrings.
Sheldonrs Monday Aug 13 10:34 AMAll that walking makes them out of breath. Then they become panting shields. :-)
