June 24, 2012: Breast Cancer Survivor

A softspoken hero in my opinion.

If I were closer, I'd give her a big ole hug. FUCK CANCER

Link with an interview.

It is amazing how far the surgeons have come in terms of being able to do such massive surgery yet minimize the incisions and resulting scars.

My mom had a breast removed in the early 1970's and she had horrible scars. They really butchered her.

This is an issue I would never have thought about, but I do agree that she should be able to swim topless. As she said, she has nothing to cover. The rule has not been about "females" dressing with tops, it has always been about being appropriately covered. Look back at when even men had to cover themselves.

Crap - Just noticed I did the title incorrectly. Would a mod please change so the date and title are correct for future generations? thanks.

I applaud a brave woman. Thanks for this image, classic. And fuck cancer.

Why the hell do we trip out over boobs? Granted I love the hell out of them, but they're not sexual organs. I dunno...we get so damn weird in this country over issues involving clothing or lack thereof. I can understand some weirdness with this situation at first, but in the end, this totally shouldn't have been an issue.

Lydon B Johnson tried to lead the way... he showed the world his scar from gall bladder surgery.

But then, he also lifted up his dog up by the ears.

I think this was at much about cancer as breasts, if not more so.
