It was suggested that I branch out to other areas of the site; so I am going to participate here. I do like the photo very much! It reminds me of the penguins at the Central Park zoo; although the penguins in your photo appear much cleaner for some reason... very nice photography!!!
glatt Friday Oct 28 09:05 PMI've never been to the Central Park Zoo. Is it nice there? I've only heard of the Bronx Zoo in NYC, and what I've heard was always a negative detail bout the old Bronx Zoo and how it was like a prison for the animals. Do they still have a Bronx Zoo? Is it fairly nice, or is it still like a prison with rectangular concrete cells for the animals?

The Bronx Zoo is still there; a bit cleaner. As far as a prison; it looks like all the other zoos I have been too. It's weird to have a zoo in the city...even if it is the Bronx. The Central Park Zoo is much smaller; more like a kids zoo; and there is also a petting zoo in CP. The price of admission to the CP zoo covers the cost of the annexed petting zoo as well. My favorite animal, which is at the Bronx zoo is called a 'Tapir.' You can Google an image of him; or youtube him...
The CP zoo polar bear died last year. They have a really nice penuin exhibit; as well as sea lions, birds (boring) and other stuff... I miss NY as I am in NJ for now...
Pam.
glatt Friday Oct 28 09:21 PMThe zoo in DC is pretty good. The elephant house was the worst, but they just re-did it and made it really nice.
Pico and ME Friday Oct 28 09:24 PMHey! Birds in zoo's aren't boring. These were a lot of fun...

A girlfriend of mine lived near DC. She lived in Owings Mills MD. We went many times to the 'Inner Harbor' and ate at Phillip's Steak house. We went into DC, but went to the space museum... it was nice. And I actaully got to touch an old nuclear missle...
But I am not fooled by that apollo rocket! We never went to the moon. It was staged in area 51 in the nevada desert. So I am dissapointed that DC would live a lie...and fool the world. I was not aware there was a zoo. i will have to investigate online...
Thanks,
Pam.

Ohhhh. I love tapirs. They don't look quite real to me. Like they were thought up by Jim Henson or someting :p

Tapir is a gentle animal; although funny looking. Most people are unaware of them. They are from Malaysia...and are adorable...
How are you aware of them??
Tapir!!!
