Mar 20, 2011: Where's the Beef?

Don't mess with a mother cow even if you are a bear, they don't care!!!

We will not be moo-ved: Moment herd of cows turns on a black bear trying to make meal of grazing calf

Mother love is pretty strong stuff. I've seen dad's cows go after dingo's before. His neighbour has brahmans and I'm always very wary of them when they're calving. They are some very nasty mothers. lol

That grizzly bearly made it out of there alive!

Gravdigr  Sunday Mar 20 02:30 AM

I guess he's smarter than the average bear after all.

Do you reckon he'll be dropping in some other time for tea and biscuits?

Griff  Sunday Mar 20 08:33 AM

He's a black bear. I doubt he survived long. If he was hungry enough to try that, he was already in trouble.

xoxoxoBruce  Sunday Mar 20 10:10 AM

He/she was young and stupid. The calf looked like a good meal, till mama came out of left field.

HungLikeJesus  Sunday Mar 20 10:37 AM

Good thing those cows were wearing leather.

xoxoxoBruce  Sunday Mar 20 10:40 AM

The bear's lucky they weren't horny.

BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!

da bruce is back, baby!

*waves*

Warren Peas  Sunday Mar 20 04:03 PM

That story dates to last October. The bear should have been in top form, fattened up on the record salmon run last year and getting ready for hibernation. Likely an inexperienced yearling, recentaly dumped by mom. At any rate if he survived the winter, he'll be popping up about now after the winter snooze. Likely as hungry as a........

xoxoxoBruce  Sunday Mar 20 04:17 PM

No salmon, just Rainbow trout and Char.

morethanpretty  Sunday Mar 20 06:16 PM

Poor silly bear. Hopefully it survived and learned its lesson.

Gravdigr  Tuesday Mar 22 04:53 PM

Hello Bruce.
