Jan 5, 2011: Traffic Sheep

The officials of the Municipality of Gland, Switzerland, felt traffic cones are a safety necessity.
But they are kind of ugly, kind of boring, and kind of ignored, so they hired Christophe Machet to do better.

He did.

If I saw one of those on the road I would probably steal one.

xoxoxoBruce  Wednesday Jan 5 01:38 AM

I think you just blew your chance for Swiss citizenship.

Me too !!!

SPUCK  Wednesday Jan 5 06:16 AM

Probably swerve off the road -> off a cliff -> wheels off the ground -> car explodes.

Wait, that's what's in those sheep so poachers get their just reward.

contructme  Wednesday Jan 5 07:53 AM

That would never work in America....Every Hillbilly with a truck would aim for 'em and run them over.

Sheldonrs  Wednesday Jan 5 08:26 AM

It's a Ba-a-a-a-a-hd idea. :-)

monster  Wednesday Jan 5 08:30 AM

You wooled say that

Trilby  Wednesday Jan 5 08:41 AM

some are red-striped, some are plain white...and then there's the lone blue-striped fella. wonder why.

crazy ass Swiss.

monster  Wednesday Jan 5 08:48 AM

He's the blue-striped sheep of the family.

monster  Wednesday Jan 5 08:49 AM

(Can't use the B-word any more. not PC)

Shawnee123  Wednesday Jan 5 08:54 AM

I have distant family in Switzerland (google my maiden name and there are a few of us) but that isn't my da-a-a-a-a-a-a-d.

Shawnee123  Wednesday Jan 5 09:00 AM

*snore*

Sorry, just fell asleep trying to count them.

TheMercenary  Wednesday Jan 5 09:35 AM

That is a great idea.

Clodfobble  Wednesday Jan 5 01:55 PM

Cuteness aside, around here traffic cones are often used to denote temporary lanes in some very narrow areas. The sheep-shapes would take up too much space.

Shawnee123  Wednesday Jan 5 02:28 PM

Sheep-shape! Tally-ho!

She sells sheep-shapes by the seashore.

And some hillbilly's would take em home, put em in black fishnet stockings and, um....we'll leave it at that.

Wombat  Wednesday Jan 5 09:52 PM

They don't look very stackable. Traffic cones frequently need to be stacked.

Don't you hate it when you make a joke, then later on in the evening think about how it could be improved upon? Oh, is that just me, rehashing and critiquing everything I said and did throughout the day?

Anyway:

She sells sheep-shapes by the seascape.

HungLikeJesus  Thursday Jan 13 06:58 PM

Well, felt is made from wool, so it's only appropriate.
