xoxoxoBruce Thursday Dec 23 12:18 AMDec 23, 2010: Harrods F*ck Off
About a week ago The Poke, a humor website, posted this picture, along with a story about
how Harrods had fired their Father Christmas. Then the fired dude gets drunk, commandeers
the control room for the exterior lights, and during a two hour standoff with police, changes
the lettering on the store facade. They even had a quote from an American grandmother,
there with her grandkids, about how shocking it was.
Of course it was a joke, as can be expected from a humor site, but that didn't keep material
hungry bloggers from reposting it over the next couple days. Googleing it, I got 75 pages of
sites posting the story. An awful lot of them didn't seem to realize it was a joke.
That is the danger of the internet.
ZenGum Thursday Dec 23 06:41 AMThe F going around the corner is a give-away. Harrods would have it set up properly, so that it was all nicely on one wall.
xoxoxoBruce Thursday Dec 23 09:26 AMAh, they wanted it to look not like Harrods, but a drunk, disgruntled father Christmas, in an unfamiliar control room, with the police kicking in the door. Intensionally sloppy, being part of the ruse.
