Nov 8, 2010: Summer Snowmobile

Norway is beautiful.

Norway is mountainous.

Norway suffers major winter.

So it's obvious snowmobiles will be in most Norwegian garages.

But what do your do with that snowmobile during the short, but pleasant, Summer?

Drag race those suckers... yeehaw!

link The site belongs to Hans Tore Tangerud, whom I've had recent correspondence with.
Very nice dude, both he and his wife drive Corvettes, and visit the US often.

OT, but how many cars do you own Bruce?

xoxoxoBruce  Monday Nov 8 09:38 AM

I have 3 on the road, but only drive them one at a time.

Flint  Monday Nov 8 11:30 AM

global warming lol

Clodfobble  Monday Nov 8 03:39 PM

Do they outfit them with different treads to race on the road? I would think asphalt would cause much more wear than snow. Or maybe they go through so many treads anyway that it's a moot point.

These treads look much more slick than the ones used on snow. The snow treads have little paddles incorporated into the tread for traction.

My Indy 600 had carbide studs.

The wheel inserts in the skis are pretty funny... and I guess they aren't using any snow-cooled models...

They just put roller blades on 'em.

I've a feeling these are much modified. I got an email it was snowing over there today, so I guess the wheels will come off.
