Oct 20, 2010: A Toast to a World Record

I know you've been whiling away the hours, amusing yourself with politics, war, and recession, waiting for the next world record in Toast Portraits.
Well your wait is over, the big day is here.

Here it is, all 9,852 slices of it!

Quote:
The toast mosaic – 128 square metres of browned and scorched bread – was officially named the world’s largest at 5pm on October 17 at Warrington’s Parr Hall by Guinness World Records adjudicator Claire Burgess. The previous record holder measured 121.93 square metres and was created by staff and students at a school in Eindhoven, Netherlands, in February.
They're walking on it.
I mean have you ever stepped on a piece of toast?
When you step on toast it shatters, it crumbles, it's toast.

Would you be flattered if someone made your portrait from toast?

When are the Europeans going to jump in and bemoan the waste of food?

Let them eat cake.

No waste, after the display is over they'll stick it back in the packages and return it to the store. That way they get a world record, and their money back too... nobody will be the wiser.

Yeah, but do any of those pieces of toast have an image of Jesus or the Virgin Mary?

Some have other images...

This is a picture of the "artists" mother-in-law. I'm thinking it's not meant as a compliment...
