Aug 23, 2010: Like a Termite

What a termite sees in his mound world...

Quote:
This wonderful termite pavilion, a walk-in structure made of wood measuring six square meters, will allow you an insight in to the world of termite’s mound. The pavilion, based in London Zoo is based on the work of the Termes project. Based in Namibia this group of international experts scanned termite mounds and created the first 3D images of the inside of a termite’s domicile.

Quote:
You may have seen their work in various documentaries, including the Life in the Undergrowth series voiced by Sir David Attenborough. The termite pavilion takes a section of the scan and scaled it up – to an extent that we can now explore it for ourselves. It is made of cross laminated timber and was sustainably sourced from Austrian spruce.
I'm sure the termites would love that pile of wood.

They left out the 3,000 wood bowling balls.

I'll make a point of stopping in at the London Zoo when I'm in that part of the world-whenever that may be.

So, a termite walks into a bar and says: "is the bar tender here?"

Sundae  Monday Aug 23 09:38 AM

Am I the only one singing the title to the tune of "Like A Virgin"?

ZenGum  Monday Aug 23 10:17 AM

No.
