July 19, 2010: Dragon

Now some smart-alecky college professor is likely to come along and tell you this is a gliding lizard from Indonesia, or something.
Don't fall for it... it's a baby Dragon, I tells ya, I expect it to light up like a BIC any moment.

Quote:
The crazy part is that those lines you see running through the wings like veins are actually its ribs! Evolution did a number on these guys. They can expand and contract their chests at will to glide great distances. We were only able to catch females as they were laying their eggs. All we could do is watch as the males soared overhead.

It's nice to know they don't weigh a ton these days. There's something to be said for modernization.

@ sky.

I loves me some baby dragons.

Would it be considered an "exotic" pet?

Ever since Ronco came up with the idea for Pocket Dragon™ I've been a big fan! And it really really works!

an artist named Real Musgrave came up with Pocket Dragons a while back:

Ooooh, a micro-dragon! Want. A half-dozen, at least, to perch on bookshelves and go soaring about the room, and occasionally alighting on my wrist to receive tidbits of raw hamburger and peeled grapes.

the head in the top pic, when viewed from below? as shown, looks like there's a skull there. Am I the only one seeing that?

Gravdigr  Tuesday Jul 20 05:59 AM

I want one!!!

I shall name him 'Smoky'.
