May 19, 2010: Bubble-wrap wedding dress

And the bride wore white... fabric underneath 13 feet of actual bubble wrap.

Quote:
Primary school teacher Rachael Robinson originally had the white dress made for her by parents of pupils for a term time recyclable materials fashion show last month.

But when fiancé Duncan popped the question while on holiday in Canada days later, she knew exactly which dress she would be wearing for the official ceremony.
She said there was popping as she walked down the aisle.

She doesn't look that fragile.

Shawnee123  Wednesday May 19 12:01 PM

The wedding cost 9000, plus 25 bucks shipping and handling.

dmg1969  Wednesday May 19 12:10 PM

She'd better keep all of that bubble wrap in case either them is "sent packing".

spudcon  Wednesday May 19 12:15 PM

I bet he spent their wedding night popping her dress instead of the usual thing. Duncan does appear to be a dweeb.

Shawnee123  Wednesday May 19 12:24 PM

Duncan is my brother, you insensitive bastard!

What's up with the wooden spoons hanging in front?

Nirvana  Wednesday May 19 12:33 PM

Well duh! a double spanking later!

Shawnee123  Wednesday May 19 12:34 PM

Ahhh, Duncan is a kinky little devil.

Gravdigr  Wednesday May 19 04:23 PM

She's a beard.

spudcon  Wednesday May 19 06:21 PM

She has some Walmart bags for a bra.

spudcon  Wednesday May 19 06:22 PM

And Shawnee, I'm not sorry about your brother.

Possibly the spoon thing is Welsh?

Quote:
Wooden Spoon
The wooden spoon originated from Wales. It was given to a lady by her admirer. A man would need to show both the woman he loved and her father his intentions. The carved spoon would show he was good with his hands and so he could work the fields and provide for her and the carved heart would be to show his affection for her.

If she keeps the spoon then this would indicate that her heart belonged to him.
Of course, in these modern times, the young man is more likely to go to the Wal-Mart and purchase some pre-fab spoons than carve them himself.

Duncan does not look like a whittler.

No, is nothing to do with welsh love spoons. Traditional at British Weddings, good luck symbol, to do with woman becoming housewife I think.....

monster  Thursday May 20 01:18 AM

She looks like a sack of spuds, though. Ugh.

Oh, I hadn't heard of that. I thought they were something other than wooden spoons and I was being funny.

Yeah, he's no whittler. He looks more like a Whittler's Mutha!

Trilby  Thursday May 20 08:36 AM

I'm getting pretty sick of all the hatin' on Duncan.

He's somebody's brother and he was killed in 9/11.

You people should show some respect.

*walks away, disgusted*

Shawnee123  Thursday May 20 08:37 AM

I think he's kind of cute, in a "forgot to leave the 70s" kind of way.
