Oct 6, 2009: Piguses

What, you've never seen a Piguses?

Sure, Piguses were big in Greek mythology... oh wait, er... um, Pig uses...

Now you can scarf that bacon, wolf down that ham sandwich, and rip through those rinds, without worrying about the rest of the pig going to waste. Although piggy might be going to your waist, but I digress. Nothing goes to waste but the oink.

Pico and ME  Tuesday Oct 6 05:16 AM

Omg. I wonder if the vegetarian I know is aware of how many products are made with pig parts! I was totally unaware.

Sundae  Tuesday Oct 6 05:34 AM

Pigs... is there anything they can't do?

BTW - they forgot to mention before the pig was chopped up it was a diver and a racer.

Probably not. And see #20? American soap companies have always been buying pig fat from Chicago. I've never heard any complaints from the Muslims, Jews, vegetarians, vegans, peta or any other group whose members don't knowingly rub pig fat all over their bodies whenever they take a shower.

First rule of oink club...

birdclaw  Tuesday Oct 6 10:32 AM

Didn't the Beatles sing an ode to the pig? I wanna hold your ham

xoxoxoBruce  Tuesday Oct 6 10:45 AM

That's just not kosher.

Oh, surely somebody can come up with a use for the "oink". Not me, but somebody else. Might it be the audio for a perpetual motion machine?

Clodfobble  Tuesday Oct 6 04:46 PM

I once turned a collection of oinks into a dinosaur sound effect. I don't know if that counts as a use though, because the game was pretty useless.

Flint  Tuesday Oct 6 05:34 PM

Oh, wow--you worked on Oink-A-Saurus?!

Actually, I'm going to send you a $0.005 check, because I downloaded a pirated copy of that game...

Yeah cuz there are only vegan soaps/candles/bath products for non-vegans.

birdclaw  Tuesday Oct 6 05:43 PM

#36...inspired Rocket Ham by Elton John. Oh dear. Is that end piece really called the chump? Never heard of it (as a pig part).

And what makes you think anyone in PETA ever takes a shower?

As long as you understand the difference between .005 dollars and .005 cents.

I'm vegetarian, and I was aware of most of those uses. After all a lot of them are different uses for just one product: gelatine. Many vegetarians are aware of gelatine and where it comes from and what it is used for, and we tend to make choices about which products to use accordingly.

Me to, cool. So are you vegan or vegetarian?
