Sept 26, 2009: Tragic Tale

Slight pointed out this tragic tale of poor old Granny Smith...

After years of nurturing children and grandchildren, the whole family chipped in for a gift, but left it to Granny Smith
to choose what that gift would be.
Granny chose a trip to Scotland, as she had loved to read Robert Burns when she was a young girl.
She longed to see the heather and the glens, to tread the foggy moors, and hear the mournful pipes over a plate of haggis.

Finally the big day arrived. The whole family came to the dock to see Granny off on her big adventure.
It was a wonderful voyage and soon the shores of Scotland rose from the mist.

Granny's tour of Scotland was greatly enhanced by the chance meeting of a gentleman, Grandpa Macintosh.
Grandpa's charm swept Granny off her feet and when her vacation ended she sailed for home, buoyed by the promise
that Grandpa Macintosh would soon follow.

But alas, the fates were cruel. Grandpa Macintosh sailed on the Titanic.
Granny Smith was heatbroken... alone... with only one thing to remember Grandpa Macintosh by.....

THAT'S FAKE! I CAN TELL!

Half Macintosh, half Granny Smith? That's a good way to ruin the Granny Smith side. Macintosh, yuck.

I bet he was a fruit.

They split because they kept arguing about stem cell research, which was at the core of all their problems.

Why is the apple upside down for the picture? What are they hiding?

spudcon  Saturday Sep 26 04:12 PM

Years later, a young man arrived in town, looking for his half sister, It seems that Grampa Macintosh had met an Irish woman, and Young Macintosh was the spawn of Grandpa Macintosh and Granny Potatohead.

I hope he didn't split open in the icy water -- cause that would be the pits.
