April 6, 2009: Model T Postcard

Here's Something a little different, I found at an Australian website that's very NSFW. You know how randy those Aussies are.

Henry Ford had spent $100 million developing the Model A and released it in December of 1927.
Model T owners were still driving a car than had been produced for 20 years with very few changes, and many were debating trading up.
This 1928 postcard, to a Man in North Dakota, is offering to refurbish the Model T as a cheaper alternative to buying the new Model A.

Remember Henry Ford was paying his workers the outrageous sum of $5 a day.

This offer was made in June of 1928, 16 months before Black Thursday, October 24, 1929, that foretold the Great Depression of '29.
The C.R. Gleason Company probably picked up some business after that.

...Or, instead of being nickel-and-dimed to death, one could splurge and buy a new Model A for about $400.

(Bruce, Gracias for pulling this interesting image off of the unrelated Australian boob site.)

Yes, under $400 for a roadster, but up to $1400 for a cushy Town Car. Of course the A had all sorts of amenities... like windows.

I had no idea model T's came with vibrators. How forward thinking.

You know whats kinda scary, I might pop up in a pic on the bottom of that NSFW link.

Schpoooky.

Now, street address and zip code will do it, no name, town, or state, necessary.

My ex-GF needed rebushing. Badly.
