September 23, 2008: How Dey Do Dat

I'm heartbroken... crushed, I tell ya... it's fake.

SPUCK  Tuesday Sep 23 06:43 AM

Get the great movie. Beowolf.

Then watch the "How hey made it." elsewhere on the DVD. It's about an hour long of this stuff. It is incredible. They even do the horses up with this stuff. Then they do it all in a gym.

footfootfoot  Tuesday Sep 23 08:40 AM

Just the tip of the iceberg my friends, just the tip of the iceberg...

xoxoxoBruce  Tuesday Sep 23 08:43 AM

Oh Noes! Next you'll be telling the breasts are fake.

they took real actors and made them look like they were rendered on a PC, sucktastic.

The POTC stuff was good, I guess because they weren't animating them as people you suspend disbeleif more.

Treasenuak  Tuesday Sep 23 09:37 AM

Damn... and here I thought how INTERESTING the casting call for this movie was... all these odd deep sea creatures we've never seen before, crawling up out of the water, just for their chance at Hollywood fame and fortune. And to find out they're just HUMAN? Bummer.

Cloud  Tuesday Sep 23 09:59 AM

I suppose those little bulls-eye target things are sensors? or just aids to help line up with the cgi?

either that or a really bad fashion statement!

el fantastico  Tuesday Sep 23 10:03 AM

huh. when i watched it i just got a monstrous hankering for sushi.

Sheldonrs  Tuesday Sep 23 10:47 AM

It's all about perspective. MAYBE they are showing you how they made the Davey Jones crew look like men in grey jump suits with black patches on them.

birdclaw  Tuesday Sep 23 11:11 AM

I wonder if people believe the actors when they say
"That's me...I was the hammer head. Sure it looks nothing like me but I swear it was me."

biorogue  Tuesday Sep 23 03:52 PM

I saw the "making of" for this, the cgi is incredible

.
I thought that was really silly, too. Just a gimmick.

Palin kinda looks cgi...

Gravdigr  Tuesday Sep 23 07:01 PM

In the top pic they look like M-class planet inhabitants from the original Star Trek. (No blue or gold shirts...everybody dies.)

You're a quick study. Now look deeper, it's all cgi once you leave the confines of grifftopia...
