April 16, 2008: Deer in Eveleth, MN

I am originally from Duluth, MN and my mom sent me this photo with this explanation.

Quote:
For those not from Minnesota, we had a huge snowfall in Northern Minnesota in April 2008. This picture was taken by a little town called Eveleth.

Snow?! In April?!

Cloud  Tuesday Apr 15 05:37 PM

Does it seem to you we have an unhealthy obsession with ungulates 'round here?

Coign  Tuesday Apr 15 05:44 PM

Yeah, here is someone filming the start of it back in Duluth, MN that another friend sent me.

so I find myself worrying how these critters will be able to eat. That's a lot of snow to dig through to find food...

All the new buds on the trees.

You can detect the faint outline of one jockey's shin behind Deer 2's rump,
between the Sharpie lines I've drawn on my monitor.

Yet another example of global warming.

Sundae  Wednesday Apr 16 07:53 AM

We had snow in April in London.
Unheard of! But wonderful.
Of course it only settled on top of cars and fences, but it was pretty while it lasted.

Oh it is horrible sometimes. You go out to the club, or around town shopping, or stepping out of your SUV with no panties, and there is the towns of Minnesota crowding around you taking picture after picture.

Flint  Wednesday Apr 16 01:26 PM

That's not snow, it's salt.

These tasty specimens are being subjected to rigorous seasoning.

hampor  Wednesday Apr 16 06:19 PM

Too cold to snow

In Minneapolis, March is the snowiest month.

On the really cold days it might snow a little, but sub-zero air can't carry that much moisture.

SPUCK  Saturday Apr 19 05:38 AM

me neither...

Diaphone Jim  Saturday Apr 19 07:51 PM
