October 4, 2007: Puppy with a heart marking

A long-time lurker sends this along, suggesting it for a Friday. It's a superb Friday image, but I actually have a great one in the queue... you'll have to wait and see tomorrow. In the meantime, this is certainly a Cute Overload candidate, and although the cloyingly cute stuff generally doesn't go on IotD, I know some of you will be oohing and aahing over this pup, and that forces me to post it. Enjoy.

Sheldonrs  Thursday Oct 4 02:09 PM

Let the "how to cook it" posts begin.

Nothing like a hearty dinner. :-)

lumberjim  Thursday Oct 4 02:09 PM

deja vu

wolf  Thursday Oct 4 02:13 PM

Dye job, cashing in on the trend in heart-puppies. Gotta be.

lumberjim  Thursday Oct 4 02:28 PM

damn...i meant to say.....that puppy has a heart-on.

barefoot serpent  Thursday Oct 4 02:37 PM

ssssswip... thwack! /Cupid

spudcon  Thursday Oct 4 04:05 PM

I think he'll end up as pup ka bob.

Coign  Thursday Oct 4 04:15 PM

Well the puppy is in Japan not China so he may survive a year or two from the resturant.

Aliantha  Thursday Oct 4 09:08 PM

I wonder how much that puppy would sell for.

monster  Thursday Oct 4 09:44 PM

So that's a cute animal with a heart,

here's one with clubs

anyone up for diamonds and spades?

(and yes, I don't like it either and I will not post any seal recipes)

DucksNuts  Thursday Oct 4 10:10 PM

Awwww Monster...I hate those dudes.

usarmydoctor  Thursday Oct 4 10:43 PM

DucksNuts  Thursday Oct 4 11:06 PM

Yeah I saw the other stuff....and I know you do....they just make me sad....then really friggin angry.

monster  Thursday Oct 4 11:35 PM

that's sorta why I posted it...... the cute-wanna-adopt side gets too much publicity.... People need to be reminded that it ain't all hearts and.. well.... hearts.

think-floyd  Thursday Oct 4 11:47 PM

How about this for Diamonds monster...

gozar  Friday Oct 5 01:28 AM

My dog has a spot shaped like a pancreas.
(I registered with cellar just so I could post this...)

Elspode  Friday Oct 5 01:42 AM

You should open him up and see what shape his pancreas is.

Is that sort of like a kidney shaped pool, only different?

Kumbulu  Friday Oct 5 02:58 AM

Pancreas

Kumbulu  Friday Oct 5 03:02 AM

My firend's cat, Jack.

DanaC  Friday Oct 5 04:11 AM

Welcome to the Cellar gozar!

In Japan, they do not eat dog. The do in Korea. I can't speak for China.

But: Dog, no. Horse, yes.

(I tease my students:
Have you ever ridden a horse?
Have you ever eaten horse meat?
(if yes to both ...)
Was it the same horse?
(Cue irrational squeamishness and immediate denial.)
How do you know?

PS I've tried it. Bland.

DanaC  Friday Oct 5 07:34 AM

Bland but smelly. I recall my dad cooking up some horsemeat one time (can't remember why, I think he was using it to feed the dog) I seem to recall it stank to high heaven as it cooked.

Wasn't this Barker always talking about Dogs and Spayeds?

Gravdigr  Friday Oct 5 12:39 PM

Well....I honestly would look to what my Da does as any indication of what people do over here, he's a tad eccentric. Generally speaking horsemeat isn't well regarded by Brits. But...he cooked it that one time.
