Friday Mar 30 02:27 PMI have 40 images waiting to go for IotD! This is too many, and many of these images are not up to the usual par, so I'll just post a bunch right in this thread to clear the backlog a little.

Where in the world could it have gotten this bad - to the point where guerillas camp out to take pot shots with serious assault weapons, on the steps where an impoverished 2-year-old will come out to see the world? Is it the middle east? Macedonia? No, it's Colombia.

Don't do this with your car.

Rugby is a really tough game, but in Australia it's gotten downright weird. Not just this image but there was a story the other day that one Aussie rugger has taken to poking people in the butt hole in order to get their attention, make them fumble, tick them off, or something like that. Poking through the shorts, but still, that would get anyone's attention, and it's weird beyond words.

Space images to show on IotD? I still have too many of them. Here is a nice image of Jupiter and Ganymede.

In this weeks news, Columbia is only receiving foreign aid from the US since most other aid is not being delivered. Why? Everyone else is into economic aid. But the US thinks the solution to Trent Lott, Jesse Helms, Dan Burton drug laws is to ship military aid to Columbia. Under $1billion mostly in 60 assault helicopters.
As a result of this "US war on drugs" - a war that has broken Columbia into three countries - Europe refused to send promise aid. That withholding is by most every major western European country.
Why is 'Traffik' such a revelation to so many?

WARNING STREAM OF CONSCOUSNESS RANT TO FOLLOW
You can't even talk about the drug war in the major media or on the campaign trail. Nader and Browne were the only Presidential candidates willing to consider a change. They were rewarded with embarassingly low returns. Maybe the drug war money is just too ever-present, cash for cops, cash for commercials, cash for mentions in sitcoms, cash for spinning movies... maybe we just had more common sense back in the thirties when we gave up prohibition. Its pretty depressing, I heard a Talk of the Nation program this week where some lady drug warrior was virtually unchallenged in her absurd assertions. Too many of my fellow "christians" denying free will, angry with anyone who challenges their values, believing legalizing equal condoning, looking forward to the day we really get tough with these people,.. Letting the Columbian people pay for our sins, disrupting their fragile political structure, pouring arms into South America, destabilizing her neighbors, disrupting her economy. and finally killing perfectly decent people like Peter McWilliams.
Well at least I feel better now.

The kid walked over to the A-Plus gas station, and held it up for a few twenties using a screw driver. He then walked up the street, sat on the curb, and waited for the Police. This was on the only way he could get into drug treatment. We spent more on B-1 bombers (that now must be scraped because they don't work right) than on drug treatment. Traffik made that obvious.
Curious in a recent poll, most American believe the war on drugs is useless. But then when asked if we should leagalize mariguana, etc, then same people are totally against it. IOW most of us still think emotionally. We can see the emotion in Traffik, then believe the war on drugs is useless. But we still cannot make the logical conclusion - mariguana is not a dangerous drug. So instead we continue to corrupt Columbia, Mexico, etc -- and blame it on them.
