Over the past week, there's been a new products conference overseas at which new products are being shown.
Everyone believes that "convergence" will lead to a lot of devices coming together as one, Shown is a combination wireless phone and PDA. There are also combinations of wireless phone and MP3 player, PDA and MP3 player, digital camera and MP3 player.
Nobody has yet to combine wireless phone, MP3 player, PDA, AND digital camera.
It's going to take a long time to sort everything out. What if you're listening to your favorite tunes, taking pictures of things, when all of a sudden you get a call that asks you to look something up on your address book?

And if the RIAA impounds your device for "infringing use", how do they seperate out the phone, PDA, pacemaker, insulin drip, etc, from the MP3 player?

Of course notice where these new options are available - not inthe US. If you had not noticed, Verizon signed a new contract with Lucent to provide all new wireless equipment. The reporters, of course, know so little about how far behind America is that they could not report the significant facts. However, it sounded as if Verizon is finally going to address Version 3.0 cell phone - which is absolutely required for all those options - options that currently don't work right on any existing American cell phone networks.

No problem. I keep the MP3 player in the "grenade" part, and all the other stuff is in the "pin" part. Take that, RIAA...
